Ok I have an extra box of 225 TSX's in 338 that I am going to load for my uncle's gun and don't want to spend a lot of time worrying about working up to a max load. I have never worked with a 338 win mag before what do I need to know and where should I start. ( I am not limited to this bullet or weight, I have many other too)

IMR4831, H4350 & RL19 are good starters. I haven't tried any of the Barnes though, more of a Nosler partition guy. http://recipes.alliantpowder.com/rg.taf?_function=centerfire&step=2&bulletID=308&cartridgeID=1083&caliber=%2E338&cartridgedescr=Win%2E%20Mag%2E&bulletdescr=Barnes%20225X http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/338wimag.php http://www.imrpowder.com/data/rifle/338winmag.php For H4350 & IMR4831, use the data for the 250gr bullet & work up. I like all three in my .338 under 225gr bullets. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

Go here http://www.reloadersnest.com/rifle.asp and scroll down to 338 Win Mag. I have a couple good loads for my 338 Win Mag and the 225 grain bullet. Nosler AccuBond 225 grs IMR 4350 70.5 grs CCI 250 Remington Brass C.O.L 3.35 Velocity 2827 fps Nosler Partition 225 grs Hodgdon H4350 69.5 grs CCI 250 Remington Brass C.O.L 3.34 Velocity 2793 fps Both are very accurate. I've never reloaded Barnes Bullets.

73grs. RE19, WLR primer, WW brass, loaded under 225IB, might work for the Barnes, worked very well in buddies rifle, shots were overlapping. Jay

My rifle loves IMR 4350 71 grs. with Federal 215 primers and 225gr. TSX's. This a slightly warm load and I get 2855 fps. with sub .5" groups (rifle is blueprinted). I assume no responsibility for loads assembled by others or used in guns other than my own. Geronimo
