Hello, Can anyone tell me if Hornady uses H4895 for the 120HP in the 7mm-08, and if so, what the Max load is? Thanks, Jay

It ain't Hornady, and it ain't the best selection for a powder...but...

H-4895 From 32.8 grains to 45.0 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

You would probably be better off using:
Varget From 34.7 grains to 46.3 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

I have never used H4895 in 7-08 but I have a '95 Hodgdon Manual that says 43g.
I have found this manual in other calibres to be close to reality.
It may be an old powder but not all new ideas are good ideas.

Thanks a bunch Steve and Rob, I see that Sierra has H4895 as the accurate load for their 120gr. bullet, thing is, I've got Hornady bullets and wanted/needed what Hornady is using for a load with H4895, I just wonder if Hornady's newest manual has the same load as what Rob noted. Jay

A call to Hornady reveals a max load of 41.5grs. for H4895 @3000fps, just for anyone who's taking notes or updates for their Hornady manuals. Jay
