'Bout 2 years ago, I bought a Gibbs Summit chambered for .45-70. I shot it a good bit and eventually traded it to a friend for something else. I saw one like it the other day and told my friend about it. I found it noteworthy because they're not common. My friend said he had traded the one he got from me to that same gunshop for something else. I went back today and bought it again. Just got done casting some 500 gr. RN bore riders with hard alloy and I got 20 of 'em loaded and ready. If you can't have fun when you go out, STAY HOME !

Yes,once. The only rifle I ever had that I thought was faultless was a scoped Mini-14. Sold it because it had too much firepower for my needs. The friend I sold it too seemed to think the same after a year or two, so I bought it back. You guessed it, I relearnt my first lesson and sold it to another friend who used to get amongst large mobs of pigs. Probably the ass/H gov. here ended up junking it. Now they are wondering why wild pigs are running amok everywhere!

Traded an 06' to a guy for a bull barrel 22lr. After a few years he got tired of deer hunting and wanted a 22 again so, I told him I'd swap him back for my ole' 06'. Piled up a couple more bucks w/ it this season. I guess it was just meant to be mine. Reloader

quote: Yes. Once in TX I traded in a big bunch of my older rifles for a fancy F. W. Heym M55/77 O/U 20-ga/.30/06 combo with an extra set of 12 Ga. barrels. Shortly thereafter, I went back to that shop and bought back my Ruger No.3 in .30/40 Krag. Would also have bought back the Paul Jaeger .308 Norma Springfield, the Mann-Schoen .270 carbine, and the M71 .450 Alaskan I had traded for the Heym too, but these three had already been bought by other people..... Yes, a couple of times. But a rifle isn't the one that makes me cry... In 1959 I bought a flat mint Krieghoff Luger from a used car salesman (Jim Judd) in San Jose, California, in its holster, for $15. I sold it for $15 a few months later. Then it found its way back to Jim, and in early 1960, I bought it again...for $15. Then I saw a not-too-cherry Model '62 Winchester pump I couldn't live without, so I traded the Luger straight across for it. A bit later I bought it back again. Finally, I traded it straight across for a Remington Rand .45 ACP. Later traded the Remington and $35 for a Colt Single Action .45, as new. Never saw the Luger or the .45 Auto again. Wish I had them both back. As someone else said, after about 40 years of that sort of thing, I finally learned my lesson. Now I don't sell or trade off guns. Just make or buy what new things tickle the fancy and, as necessary, enlarge the secure storage capability. If it's worth buying twice, it's worth keeping...hang onto that sucker! Regret is a bitter dessert. Best wishes, Alberta Canuck My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Sadly, I have a similar story. A fellow that worked at the same place I do had a like new Remington 700 BDL in 22-250 that he wanted to sell. I bought it and enjoyed it for a couple of years. He came to me one day and said he wanted to start shooting varmints again. I was in the market for something new, so I sold it back to him. Well, a couple of years went by and he was not shooting it so I bought it back from him. Same story, a while later he just had to have it back. And, once again he got tired of it and I bought it once more. It has since been rebarreled to 6mm Remington and he is not ever getting it back again. All that is left of the original gun is the action. It now has a heavy SS Shilen barrel, a McMillan stock, a Jewell trigger, etc. etc. Such is the the life of some gun traders. R F R Flowers

Nope, but a guy I worked with was married five times and three of the marriages were to one woman. Man! some folks never learn.
