I used to use IMR 4350 exclusively and got loads plenty hot enough for anything I intended to shoot with it. I sold that rifle long ago and so no longer have the data I used to use, so I can't give you any specifics except that 140 gr. Nosler PT's were sudden death on pigs.

Have you checked the twist? The standard military load for the old 7 was 175 gr and the barrels were given a 1 in 8 twist to stablilize it. Not the flattest shooting pill to drive, but at normal velocities it still penetrates nose to butt on anything up to big bears . . . or maybe moose.

IMR 4350 is pretty much the accuracy standard in many cartridges including the 7X57. I load 50 grs of it with 139 and 140 gr bullets and they shoot well. The maximum load for newer rifles is 49 grs so as usual work up and double check any load you read.

Not using a military barrl but here you go. I've done quite a lot with the 154 gr. Hornady Interlock.
Reloader 15:
46. gr. avg. 2494 fps
47 gr. avg. 2540 fps
48 gr. avg. 2636 fps
49 gr. avg. 2665 fps

H4350:
46 gr. avg. 2541 fps
47 gr. avg. 2624 fps
48 gr. avg. 2696 fps
49 gr. avg. 2740 fps

None of these showed any pressure signs in my VZ24 action with 24" douglas barrel. The most accurate load for me was 47 gr. of Reloader 19, it shoots pretty consistantly around .8" groups and I think this bullet at 2540 fps should be good enough.

H4895 works best and Varget 2nd best in my 95 Chilean.
Original military barrel so I think this is the info you want.
I could not get H4831 to shoot mainly because I try to stay around the minimum load and not blow myself up.
I do not chronograph because I don't really care about velocity, I value group size more.
So now that I have my range log in front of me I will give you my loads, each are 5 shots.

35gr H4895, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 1.549"
***35.5gr H4895, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 0.610" (3 in 2 holes!)
36gr H4895, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 0.750" (3 touching)

35gr H4895, FED GM210M, Win 150gr PP = 1.952"
35.5gr H4895, FED GM210M, Win 150gr PP = 1.402"
36gr H4895, FED GM210M, Win 150gr PP = 1.579"

36gr Varget, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 0.962" (2 touching)
36.5gr Varget, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 1.090"
37gr Varget, CCI 200, Win 150gr PP = 1.855"

34gr H4895, CCI 200, Speer 160gr Mag-Tip = 0.961"
(2 touching, and 3 touching)
34.5gr H4895, CCI 200, Speer 160gr Mag-Tip = 1.276"
35gr H4895, CCI 200, Speer 160gr Mag-Tip = 1.309"

***DENOTES BEST LOAD

This should get you started.
