| I'm in the process of switching one of my rifles away from nosler, I think they have a good product but have too many options and not enough infrastructure to keep up with demand.
some will stay loyal, but if I order bullets and they get re-backordered 3 times (338 ballistic tips this year) then it's time for me to find something more readily available
your best bet is either restart or conserve with what you have, then order a lot when they are on SPS next time |

| I was fortunate enough before our safari to get my hands on enough boxes of 160 ABs for the 7mm. But it is cyclical too. Before hunting season they seem to get grabbed up. It is the same in 270 and others too.
I know there is a place that sells seconds but it has been out of stock about forever on the ABs. I wanted to just get a bunch of those but no joy on that.
I bought 5 or 6 boxes of 162 Hornady AMAX for just paper punching. But I have to get a load developed now. I found RL22 wasn't the powder for my rifle with it anyway. |

| In my experience, 165 Nosler BTs shoot essentially the same - maybe even a bit better - than 165 Accubonds.
I suggest using the BTs for targets and smaller thin-skinned game and save your Accubonds for the bigger brutes.
I noticed that Powder Valley had some 165 BTs. |

| These past several years have changed the way I buy my handloading and 22LR ammo I buy it all in quantity when I find it and put away like I may never find it again

I've found that I could exchange BTs & ABs quite often.

| While I am sure that is true the BT have been out of stock too. That is in 7mm. But I see that the 150s are in stock now at Midway.
But the AMAX was consistently available so I tried them.
If they ever get the BTs I will try them. But you know how it is. You hate to buy 500 and find they don't shoot. But if they do they will be out of stock for the next 4 years. I really didn't want to buy 500 Hornadys but I figured I could always give them away. |

| I am with you on the stock up Ted. At least enough to shoot out a barrel. That is why I reduced calibers too. I just wanted to have more of fewer calibers to stock. |

| All, when you were able to find Accubonds, did anyone have problems with the tips? I don't think I am rough on cartridges, but when using 180gr Accubonds in a 30-06 Wthby Vanguard, the white tips are breaking off when loading and feeding. Even had one jam up the action because the white tip broke off during feeding and got between cartridge and chamber. Never had that happen with Ballistic Tips.

I recall reading something similar on another hunting forum. From that discussion and my memory, it seemed like the issue was centered around some older production bullets.

| I think that is right. ^^^
The newer ones occasionally have a damaged or broken tip but it is much more rare in my experience with the AB. |

| Plastic tips have rarely - if ever - given me problems. IMO, they work 99% of the tiime. |

| Years ago I bought some seconds that had some loose tips. Found some of the rounds from lower in the mag had lost their tips. Shot them compared to the ones with the tips. For my 2-300 yd limit I couldn't really tell the difference in accuracy. I'm sure long range it would probably show.

| These were from a box that had been sitting on the shelf for a while, so they could have been from that troublesome lot. In any case, will shoot them up.
