Ray, I have an RCBS A-4 press and think it is the best press I have ever seen. I have owned this press for so long now that I do not remember when I bought it. For such a powerfull press with LOTS of leverage, it is also seemingly sensitive. I can feel primers seating to the bottom of the pockets when using the priming system this press came with. So, what is your question? R Flowers

Good morning, I have the A4, bought not really to use that much but to be a companion with RC, Jr., Partner presses, but might use it......my Q is: How can regular shell holders be used? I looked at pdf Big Max instructions & appears like they just might fit in those 3 locking jaws. Thanks, Ray

There is a separate ram top component that replaces the auto shell holder. To use you unscrew the auto shell holder and install the new extension. It has the snap in feature for shell holders like your other presses. See figure 4 of the PDF. It is item 19 in the exploded view at the end.

The universal shell holder was not RCBS's best idea. HAd one for over 20 years and use it constantly... good comfortable strong press. Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! DRSS, double owner-shooter since 1983, O/U .30-06 Browning Continental set.

Best and straightest press I have ever seen (I have the tools to measure). I have 2 of them. The ram adapters for regular shell holders are hard to find. RCBS didn't have any more
