ARTJR338WMWhat extras to buy for Hornady LnL AP press
After dozens of hours spent resurching, I have desided to buy a Hornady LnL Progressive press to reload rounds for my hand guns.
I was wondering what extras are considered as must have's for the LnL AP press besides the obvious caliber spacific shell plates need for each of my different hand gun calibers.
The list of extras I have so far includes the fallowing items:
RCBS Lock out die
Redding Titainum Carbide sizing dies
Caliber spacific shell plates for .45, 38/357, 10mm/40cal.
I do not plan on buying a auto case or bullet feeder for quite some time as each one by itself represents a cost greater than I wish to expend right now.
I would appreciate anny and all suggestions from owners of Hornady LnL AP presses.
Thank you,
Arthur.

DIXIEDOGYou'll want the pistol rotor for your powder measure, I struggled with inconsistent charges for awhile before I found out they made a pistol rotor.
Since I got the pistol rotor it's dropping great charges.
I also agree on the powder cop...good investment if you watch it. I had a sticking measure and never caught it until I got to the range and had a squib...with a progressive it's hard to see down inside the case to verify your charge visually on every case...the powder cop takes care of that.
If this is your first reloading set up you'll also need calipers, a scale, case deburring tools,.....

cgbachExtra primer tubes and a primer flipper tray. Fill tubes while watching tv so you don't have to waste reloading time. 100 primers really go fast. A powder check die can be handy IF you remember to look at the @#$% thing.

+1 on die bushings, lots and lots of them..

45/70 Thumper Better handle and nice tray add on.And BTW that site has great helper videos for all the major reloading manufacturers
There is a micrometer rifle insert for the powder measure that makes your adjustments more repeatable (and lots quicker!). IMO that is what should have been included as the standard....
Cheers,
Dan
