I wonder if there is a Palm Pilot or Visor organizer that can be loaded with reloading data that I could keep on the reloading bench. It would be handy to have data at hand and to record pet loads. Also maybe have ballistic tables to take to the range, etc. Anyone have input on this possibility? | ||

I have a Casseopia that I use. It runs Windows CE and has Pocket Excel installed. There are Ballistics programs for Microsoft Excel at the following site that can be loaded onto the Windows CE versions. http://www.nucleus.com/~cronhelm/ Try the RBC version of the spreadsheet from the Ballistics page. RBC is the Ranging Ballistics Computer version. It has the ability to calculate ranges bases on GPS positions entered using the UTM mode, a nice feature for long range shooters. | ||

R-West, I'll butt in here. The accuracy should be the GPS limit, which is usually around 50 ft. since the government turned off their SA "feature". Also, the older 8-channel GPS units may be less accurate than that. Rick. | |||

SA has been off for maybe a year or so. It's been a while. The "old" Garmin 12 that I have gets the coordinates down to a couple feet if I have a good fix on the satellites. If the GPS says point to point is 100 meters, it's 100 meters. | ||

Yes, the Pocket PC's have Pocket Excel. I have all my reloading records on 2 files in my Compaq iPAC. It works great! mike ------------------ United States of America, Love it or LEAVE IT! | |||

WOW ! I'm a techno-geek and felt guilty about taking an old laptop I have and moving it to the loading bench for LoadBase and Sierra programs. I don't feel half-bad now ! PDA App's, Excel on PDA's, GPS - thanks brothers ! Click, click, clickity-click, click - BOOM! Another X. GPS- yeah even my 4 yr old garmin gets about +/- 15 ft. and that's only a few yards. that probably work really well for marking towns. p.s. those i-paq's rock !!! work smarter, not harder. later, nate | ||
