I bought a box of 6.5mm bullets today- Hornady 129 gr Interlock softpoints. I've never used them before, and thought I'd give them a try. Opening the box, I find striations on the jackets, running from part way past the ogive to the lead tip. They almost look like scratches. I'm not worried about this affecting accuracy, I'm worried the may open up too quickly. Last time I saw marks such as these, it was on varmint bullets- Berger 52 gr MEFs, if I recall. Are these marks normal to this bullet? Should I be worried? Thanks for your attention. Cooter

Hornady serrates the Inter-loc jacket on the inside of the ogive to aid in quick expantion. The bullets you have are normal, the stress of the serrations are what`s visible on the outer jacket tip. There is no effect on accuracy and they do preform well on deer. I`ve taken 5 Michigan whitetail with the 129 Inter-loc between a 260 Rem and 6.5 Swede. Both shoot them well.
