55-60 grain. How do they shoot? Any 1/2" or less groups as common happening?

If you are shooting a standard 1/10" twist barrel you should stay 58 grain bullets or heavier (cup and core). My S-I-L has my old Ruger 77 all-weather in 243Win and it shoots sub .5 MOA with the 58 grain V-max over H4895. He tried the 55 grain Nosler bullets and the harder he pushed them the better they grouped and he got under 1" at 100 yds. but was getting flattened primers.

A 55 Nosler B.Tip shoots as well (very, very good) as a 70 Nosler B.Tip in my HB .243 (Browning-Sako), which likely has a 1-10 twist. It's a toss-up as to which gives you the advantage in 400-500 yard varmint shooting -- higher velocity or higher B.C. But I went back to the 70-grainers simply because they seemed to result in more "reaction", if you know what I mean, from the target. More "hang time" so to speak.

I've used the 65 V-Max in a .244, where it was very good, but not the 58's.

In a slower twist 6mm PPC the 55 Noslers are THE ticket for accuracy.

I feel like the low S.D. of the light 6mm's calls for the sharp polymer tip to keep B.C. up, so I avoid open point bullets in light weights.

I'm going to try out the 69gn GSC. An all-copper monometal for California deer.

It uses driving bands for better pressure and velocity levels. The hollow point may diminish the BC marginally but it increases the stability and potential accuracy for many rifles.
