Does anyone shoot slugs through their 28 Guage? I've only found the Brenneke's, and they group excellent, <2" at 50 yards. However extraction is downright difficult out of a Blaser R93.

Does anyone load their own 28 Guage slugs? If so, and if you'd be so kind, I'd like to know what equipment and components you used, and if they were worth the effort.

For a slug, I've found the Round Balls/Wads at Ballistic Products, or you'd have to Mold Lee REAL Muzzle 54 caliber slugs or some equivalent.

If it was mine I would rifle the bores and use .54 Minie bullets in it.
However, it is illegal in this state for deer. 20 ga minimum. But I see that Michigan allows anything.

I went down that path once but with 20ga and 12ga. I use several fast powders mostly green dot and ww231. My results were varied. I tried Sabot type slug, Ranier hollow point and round balls. I have a couple MEC, reloaders that I used. I made several roll crimp tools to use in a drill press with limited success. If I used new hulls and had the filler right I could get a fairly good roll crimp. the crimp type worked about as good. Accuracy was all over the place none of my loads were very good. At 50yrd. they were lucky to stay on a 12" target at 100 for get it.
I did load some 410ga 3 1/2" with 36cal round balls that were great on cyotes.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

I can get started with all tools and components for about $100- so not out much if results are not good. Only way to find out is to try it, now that I am retired I got the time for these type projects Smiler
