Welcome, I am also a fairly new reloader from Las Vegas . My Speer reloading manual has an entire chapter on loading for cowboy action. I recommend you get at least 2 manuals in hardback. I have found them and this web sight envauable. FYI , spurlocks in Henderson and accuracy on bolder hwy have manuals and a good selection of components. I use tightgroup in my .38 special so can't help with a recommendation....but would advise to keep away from the 800-X as it don't measure well.....it's a course powder and bridges in my powder measure.....even when I reload 20 ga shells I have to weigh the charges as the MEC won't meter very accurately......

With the Marlin .357 Magnum it is better to use a slower burning powder to get the optimum velocity in the 18" barrel. Go to Hodgdon/IMR website. Pick rifle calibre and then .357 Magnum. They give you all the data:
