Picked up a jug of trail boss today and loaded a few rounds, and I'm pretty impressed. Makes for a fun plinking round. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to shoot some more. The load was 25gr or trail boss, WLRM primer along with some 300gr hornady interlocks.

I am toying with using TB as a starter load for my son. How full is the case with that load ?

As long as the charge is not compressed in any way, I understand that with as full a case as you can come up with NOT compressed, you cannot exceed maximum pressure for any cartridges loaded with Trail Boss. Trail Boss, for those who have not used it, is an extremely purposely-bulky powder- (think "mini Cheerios," not flakes). It was designed to fill up a case fully and eliminate the potential for a double charge.

They show a load of 26.3 grains of Trail Boss in a .375 H&H case, and if memory serves, doesn't the Ruger case hold a few grains more water? The only question is whether a 300 grain bullet seated in a .375 Ruger case will compress the charge. It may, and if so, that is the only potential for trouble.

Its close. I Would not go past 25gr with a 300gr bullet. That load data is for a 235gr bullet, and while I had no issues I wouldn't risk it. My future loads will be less. I'd stay around 23gr, and seat it as far out as your comfortable.
