Anyone have a pet recipe for the 270 Winchester for the 140 grain FailSafe bullets? I don't need the highest velocities, but would appreciate info on your most accurate loads. Thanks! Garrett

i became interested in the fail safe line of bullets after seeing those pics of expanded bullets in another thread, although they almost appear to be too tough a bullet. so far I have had good luck with hornaday's interbond. they are only slightly less accurate than noslers ballistic tips. ballistic tips =9/16" group whereas interbonds=3/4" groups in my 270. I looked for some failsafe's to try out but found like the accubond they are only made in 140grains for some reason. I still would like to try some but to me a 270 is just supposed to shoot a 130grain pill. In your case I would imagine about 59-60 grains of 4831, should do the trick for ya, maybe play with the seating depth a bit and you should have a good shooter

I love this Fail Safe load. I have used it on deer and hogs, drops them in thier tracks. I use 50.5 gr IMR-4350 with Fed 210m Primers C.O.L. 3.34 Great accuracy, 5 shot group at 100yds are less than 3/4". I shoot a Remmington 700ss Good luck

On 130 gr in .270, I have found 60 gr H4831 to be a compressed load, especially in Remington cases.I would think 56 to 58 would work well for the heavier bullet. It doesn't get much better than 130 gr bullets on the heavy end or 75 gr on the light end in the .270.
