I am new to reloading, any tips for using the Lee Hand Loader? I am having trouble getting a good crimp for the .30-30 (W/ 150 gn win. flat point) using the lee loader without buckling the case mouth. For some reason, the 170 partitions seat really tightly and do not seem to need a crimp, not so with the win. bullets as they can be turned. This is all I have right now, so advice to buy a crimping die is not what I am looking for (as I would need a press and die, etc.), but will accept if it is the only option.

Can you turn the Winchesters prior to crimping? If the Partitions don`t turn but the Winchesters do I suspect it has to do with the crimp you are applying or you are varying the brand of brass you use. Both bullet should be the same diameter to within a couple ten thousanths of an inch.
Too heavy a crimp will actually loosen a bullet by bulging the case neck behind it. A even case lenght and attention to the amount of pressure you are applying when crimping may cure your problem.
