I want to work up a new load for my .308 using Ramshot TAC riflepowder. On the box itrecommends using a CCI 200 primers. Out of interest can anybody tell me if this is a standard or magnum primer and could I use Federal 210's (which I have on hand) instead if I work up a load carefully?

Thanks,

You can use the Federal 210 instead of the CCI-200...just work the load up slowly.

There was some data published on this board a while back that indicated that the Federal 210 produces 3-5,000 higher peak PSI than the CCI 200, with about the same muzzle velocity, in 30-06 loads.

CCI 200 is a standard large rifle primer
