Universal seating die

I decided to give one of these ^^ a try. I'm really liking it so far. It speeds up the single stage process and the micrometer seating adjustment is very nice. Not a new concept at all but new to me.

I also decided to try the Lee auto bench prime tool. I have been using the auto-prime 2 for years, great system but I wanted to free up some space on my turret press and try a bench primer. The jury is still out on that one but it seems to work well so far.

Big Grin I looked at micrometer dies many years ago and decided I didnt need one.
I do like the bench type primer seaters. the squeeze type really do not work after carpel tunnel issues.
I have had this lee primer tool for 20+ years.it was cheap and hokey but I made it work.

Yep, that is the same Auto prime 2 that I have been using since the '70's. Big Grin One cool factoid is the tray fits right on the new bench prime system. The new clam shell system is even more hokey. I have carpal tunnel as well, I like the hand held tools but its just not worth it anymore.

I like the seating die mostly for the window, you just drop the bullet in the die and go. It is especially slick when dealing with flat based bullets. I felt the same way about micrometer adjustments, this one is my first. It does make dialing in your seating depth easy though.

It does look nice and priced right except for the fact that it skips .308.
What's up with that?
(I know y'all are not the ones to ask. haha)

Cool I saw that. I do not shoot 308 at this time. When I see the bullet holder I may be able to make one, or modify the 284. the 308 may be in the adj die pinocchio

It says it comes with 9 sleeves and only 8 are pictured in the case, with another in the die. Isn't that probably where the ".308" is?

Sorry for the slow reply. I wondered about that myself. It comes shipped with the 308 sleeve in the die.

Ha, ha. sorry mate. Accurate reloading as a whole has cost me quite a bit over the years. Big Grin
