i have had a .280 ross for some time now and have not been able to shoot it due to not having proper ammo. well proper ammo can now be made from .375 ruger brass or from RCC Brass. the data i have seen is for 7mm rem mag brass as the parent case. the ross brass has more volume, but i do not even know how large it is. would you work off the weight of water that the ross holds and convert that to volume? is there a place on the web that you trust that has a chart of internal volume of other 7mm rounds? qould QuickLoad help with this? i know that pressures are not linear when looking at charges in different calibers, but if i can bracket the ross cartridge i will be happy. any help would be appreciated. ETA - i know some sites list case volume for almost anything, but it comes down to this - what do you trust? i guess i am too old fashioned or something. ink and paper reloading manuals make me feel warm and fuzzy, where as things i read only on the internet make me feel cols and prickly! yet here i am asking advice on the net. what can i say, i'm a fat old man!

it is things like this that make feel uneasy. do a quick search and the 7mm rem mag has a capacity of 82. so which is correct? or does the ross really have an additional gram of water? the ross is listed as 76grams in other places. i am feeling cold and prickly

that's grains not grams. 72,,,78 meh,, look at how much a grain of water[1-1/7,000th of a lb.] actually is, it's not even a drip. you'd need like 5 of them to dome the water on top of the case. your worrying about nuthin. make some cases to fit the rifle and work up a load. the paper nor the deer will give a shit about 2 grains of case capacity.
