Hi,Just got my new rifle, Savage 112FVSS 300 win mag. So I bought a box of 180gr federal seirra classic shells. the gun I fired 3 shots to find zero at 100, 2 more to find 3 inches high. And the next 3 to group. Gun shot a pefect clover leaf smaller than a nickel in diameter. I must say for a new rifle to shoot a .3 group after 5 shots. Is a testament to Savage out of the box accuracy. I was just wondering what powder and load weight federal use's in there rounds.??????. I would love to reproduce this load at a cheaper cost than buying off the shelf.

One never knows what the factories may be using at any given time. Period. I'd suggest buying some of what you already know works in your rifle: the Sierra bullets, Federal brass, and Federal primers. Then pick a reasonable powder and get to work. You'll likely find a sweet load in less time than you'd think. RSY

My A-bolt loves the Federal classic 180's as well. They use the Sierra pro hunter bullet and I use RL22 powder and they hit to same point of aim.
