Looking to reload 150g cup and core bullets. The Remington core lokt always shot pretty good, but they're harder to find and more expensive, so I thought I'd load for the 742 and see if I could find an accurate load.

nice easy generic load with enough speed to shoot flat to 250yds..
49.5grs. of I-4064 with a win primer.
any case you got is safe.[I use Federal]
all the 150gr. cup and cores are fine with that load too.

drop a grain with I/H-4895 for the same results.
you also have enough room to play with the OAL. I use 3.20 or 3.30 they both work, you probably wanna use 3.2 for better feeding.

What Lamar sez! but stay away from the plastic tipped bullets, they are overly long and tend to jam autos...`Look for some core lokts on the internet, I bought 200 from adds in the the
AR classified and 150 or more WW sivertips in 30 caliber adn some in 270...stuff is out there you just have to find it..

The 742 is sort of like the M1 Garand,
don't use any powder faster than 4895, 4064, or Rel 15.

Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.
