In my 22" Rem 700 47.7 H414 pushes the 140 TSX to a chronographed 2889 average. The Hornady manual shows 2900 fps with H414 up to 49.9 grains pushing SST & Interbonds. My rifle worked safely up to 49.5 grains with the SST @ 2950 but accuracy was so so. I can only push Nosler Partitions to 2820 with 47.0 H414 (max load in Nosler manuel) but that is an accurate load, I have not tried the Accubonds yet. The TSX shoots so good that is what I'll be hunting with this fall. Hope the bullet performs as well on whitetails as it does on targets

I`ve never been able to hit more then 2800 fps with IMR4350 or R19 in mine. This is with a 24" barrel. I know some of the manuals list loads at this velocity but I`m leery of going that hot in mine. I shoot mostly 139 gr Hornady SPs or 140 gr BTs and get velocities similar to the slower powders useing Varget. Normally around 2750+ fps or so is where I quit. The accu bond or X bullet is a longer bullet then a regular Hornady or Sierra SP and will have to be seated deep in the case. If your rifle is a short action you may run out of room. I am compressing charges at ~46 - 47 grs with both R19 or IMR4350 so I`d go with the H414 if you decide to try. Good luck............Joe

What are you going to gain at 2900 fps, that you are coming up "short" with at 2800 fps? I would just load for 2800, which is real simple with IMR 4064, 4895 and RL 15 with a 140 grain bullet. Don't get hung up on max velocity. If you need more velocity go with a bigger cartridge like a 280 or 7 Mag. It is bullet placement, not velocity or footpounds that kill. 49 grains of W760 gave 2948 with the 140 Partition and 2907 with the 145 Speer in my 22" A-Bolt. The Partition load shot 1/2" groups with boring consistency. I miss that little gun.

Seafire, I completely understand what you're saying.. Same manual lists 150gr bullets in a .308 @3028,2927,2961,2922,2943 fps. Curious.
