Fellers:

I purchased a Model 329PD this past weekend and shot a box of Black Hills 210g SWC through it to acclimate. What a pussycat! Then, a few "Full house" .44 Mag loads. Uh, can you say .454 Casull? So, I want to load some 240g Special or low power Mag loads for practice. Got any favorites? How low can I go on powder (H110) with the 240s in a Magnum load?

Thanks...(I love the gun. It's gonna be an awesome carry gun for hunting).

I wouldn't suggest low power loads w/H110 or any slow powder. My old favorites for the 44 Spl. were 7.5 gr/Unique and 17 gr/2400 which shot to same poa in my old Mod 24. A Keith 250 gr semi wadcutter was used almost all of the time. As to 44 Mag loads, I try the faster powders and settle for 1000f/s loads only in that lightweight monster.

Read 475Guy again, them memorize his suggestions. No more answers needed. He know whereof he speaks. Trade that 110 for 2400 and live well forever.

I would also start with 1 gr under my listed loads to start, with today's Unique and 2400. It seems that they have different burning characteristics than the older stuff I still have on hand.
