I don't have a chrony, could I get some of you guys to tell me what velocity you have gotten out of this load for a simple load velocity estimate. The load is: 71.0 gr 7828 200gr Sierra Matchking CCI 250 out of a 26 inch tube Sorry about that, it is a 300 win mag. Thanks A man should never stop learning, so a man should never stop asking questions

You will not be very far off from what the manual tells you for the load. They usually tell the length of the test barrel so if they used a short barrel you could be a little faster and they used a 26 like yours you will be close to the book.

Actually my experiences do not agree with yours.I have seen over 150fps difference between the velocities posted in loading manuals and the velocities actually produced in the rifles that that I have chronographed the loads in.This was with the exact same components and the same barrel lengths.

I agree with stubblejumper here.....often the books are very much in agreementment with my readings.....and then sometimes there's hard to explain differences. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
