sksshootercan someone run a quickload for me (updated)
it would be much appreciated. i would like to know a ball park figure of my velocity as i do not own a chrony at this time. the load is as follows.
270wsm
fed brass
60.5g reloader 22
win large rifle magnum primer
150g nosler ballistic tip (not coated/combined tech)
oal 2.855
24" barrel.

Antelope SniperPressure wise it estimates around 49k PSI.
It should be a fairly mild load.
QL shows a max of about 65.5gr at 3100 fps.
As far as choosing brass on QL, it's a little more involved then that. You must measure the water volume of your case.

sksshooteron second thought i punched those numbers in the ballistic calc on my phone and at 2850fps it gives 28" drop @400 yds with velocity at 2150 and ftlbs at 1540.
at 3050 fps muzzle its gives
24" drop, velocity 2320 and ftlbs at 1790.
i probably wont make a shot at 400 but if i do that would be the longest. i feel pretty confident that the 2850 muzzle velocity is adequate to make a kill at that distance so i think i may just stick with that. i guess if i wanted more i could drop down to the 130's but i like the performance of the 150's they kill quick and with less explosiveness than i have had from the 130's. ive killed 3 deer with this round using the 150's all 100yds or less with the closest being about 40yds and all 3 were drt with limited damage to the surrounding meat. all 3 were through and through shots with good wound channels so im satisfied with what i have.

I can never get my QL posts to come out as pretty as your?!
Open QL to the page above.
Highlight the entire page or any potion you wish.
Go to the top of the screen, left side and click on "copy to", select "clip board".
Now if you are going to post that clipboard on a forum like this and just click past it will come out all fucked up.
Enter your paste info like this.
On the keyboard select the square bracket left, it looks like this ([) .
Then type in the word (code).
Then select the square bracket right, it looks like this (])
Then hit the space a few times.
Now click on the square bracket left again ([).
Type in backwards slash (/) then the word (code) followed by another square bracket right (]).
Then click paste between the right and left square brackets code] here [/code . Notice I left out the other two square brackets for demo purposes.
