Norma brass is built to closer tolerences to Saami specs something Rem or Win cannot seem to do consistently. sure-shot

I don't know if Lapua makes brass for the Swift but they have the best brass and it's less expensive than Norma.

When I was shooting a .220 Swift I had both Norma and Winchester brass. I didn't notice the Norma brass to be markedly superior. From my data log the WW brass averaged 160.5 gr weight, while the Norma went 171.7 gr. The extreme spread on the WW brass weights was 1.4 gr, but the Norma extreme spread was 2.1 gr. I ended up standardizing on WW brass, but that was over a lot of calibers I was loading. Norma then did not offer as many cases as they do today. I decided to focus on one brand to help read pressure. The Norma 50 grain factory load was a hot one though. Comparing their factory load to my handloads, I decided to limit my loads to a fired case expansion of .4450". The WW cases I limited my loads to .4440" fired case expansion by comparing to their factory loads. I didn't find any data about which brand of cases gave the most reloads. Today Lapua has a good reputation, but I have not shot any...jim dodd ------------------
