Seafire - I applaud your efforts. Give Hodgdon'e Titegroup a try, as it appears to be totally insensitive to load density or case position.

Steve, I found that SR 4759 was kind of a pain in the skinny 22 caliber opening in the cases. It sure has proved accurate in the calibers I have tried it in. IN fact, I was hunting with a load in my 338/06 with a 200 grain Hornady FN, with 33.5 grains of SR 4759 and it duplicated the old 33 Winchester load perfectly at 2250 fps in a 24 inch barrel. IMR and H 4227 did not give me the accuracy that I was looking for. I have gotten good results with my Blue Dot loads, but wanted an alternative and also was looking at a good 22 Mag duplication load. This sure hit the bill. The other consideration is availability locally. SR 4756 is stocked locally and reasonallly priced. SR 4759, I have to pick up near Portland when I am up that way at the Sportsman's Warehouse. Down here they want $10.00 to $12.00 for half a pound. SR 4756 is $8.00 a half pound. When you live in Hooterville, you have to get what is available. Of course St. Marie's Montana is a lot more of that problem than here, so I am preaching to the choire. Cheers and good shooting seafire
