Hello All,
My RCBS seating dies aren't cutting it anymore. I have narrowed the choices down to a Redding or Forster micrometer seating die. So, which one?
Thanks

I'm happy with my Redding Competition seating die. Never tried Forster.

Thanks ZEKE ..I have the Forster ULTRA seating die and it works great....I also have several RCBS Competition seating dies and they are nice with the sliding sleeve...I hav heard nothing but good things about the Redding die but have not used the seating die, just the comp. neck bushing die for sizing...nice works...my Forster gives very repeatable seating depth and the seater will handle long pointed V-Max bullets as well as the hp...checking the concentricity of loaded rounds with a Sinclair gauge or RCBS Case Master I find very concentric seating with good cases and very consistant depth and changes to depth with a change of the micrometer settings....I think it would be hard to go wrong with either of them....good luck and good shooting!!!

Zeke,
I've got a Redding die set for my .17 Remington, and it' very nice. All my other sets are RCBS Competition, and I've got no problems with them! I load for .22 Hornet, .243 Winchester, & .308 Winchester/7.62NATO. My concentricity problems are only with Remington cases, the Winchester cases all check out within .004".
Regards, George.

What sort of run out are you getting with the Redding seater? I'm thinking of changing from my Lee seater because about 30% of my rounds are showing more than .002 run out.

Regards

Ray
