Does anyone have any experience with this powder? Burn charts show it to be right next to IMR7828 in burning speed. A couple of stores where I buy powder stock it but no one knows much about it.

I am loading for a 30/06 with 150 and 165 gr. bullets. It is priced cheaper than w-760 and other powders. Merg

It may be cheap because it's been discontinued. I can't find any current data for it. Hodgdon is selling WW powders now. http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

My recommendation would be to use something a bit faster for 30-06. My brother-in-law's dad uses IMR4895 which gives low charge weights for more shots per pound. I prefer H414, and H or IMR4350 for 30-06. Some folks like IMR & H4831

Accurate powders can often be found at a discount.

WXR is the same powder as Reloder 22 (with the usual disclaimer of "I have no idea what I'm talking about, so start low and work up"). I bought quite a bit of WXR when it was being closed out at one of the online stores. I blended it with my remaining cans of RL22 and now have a lifetime supply of good powder.

It might be a bit slow for most 30-06 loads but I see several RL22 loads listed. I don't load for the 30-06 so I can't speak from experience.

I did the same thing with WMR. I found 32 pounds and am happily loading away.
Now all this leads to the next question. Why in bloody plupercect hell can't Winchester make and keep a decent slow burning powder in their inventory? Supposedly, WMR and H-450 are the same powders as WXR and RL-22 are the same. WTF?
I did notice that WMR and H-450 were dropped at the same time. Again, why? The powder worked and worked damn good, not only in my .300 Win. Mag. but in my .243, 257 Robt., .270 Win. and .280 Rem. it didn't work to well in the 30-06 or my .338 Win. mag.
The cartridges it did work well in we up there in velocity and accuracy was excellent. So what gives Winchester?
