JLarssonMaybe he's referring to the fact that he's holding the digital caliper so he can't see the readout.
Also, his fly is open behind the press handle.

I DO find it interesting that he's got two different kinds of brass out there. The one on the press has a long neck and the one he's measuring has a short neck. Maybe he's case-forming.
Jon Larsson - Hunter - Shooter - Reloader - Mostly in that order...

steve boxWell I will give you the Fly being open but I have used my caliper for OAL after locking it down and not looking at the read out and I'm sure that I have loaded before with my fly open but the thing that stands out to me is the powder by the press, looks a little like nose candy.

smedleyTo me it looks like he should order up a set of "Left Handed" calipers and make it easy on himself!

We Americans were tired of being thought of as dumb, by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November 2008 and removed all doubt.....let's not do it again in 2012 please.

It's Mica, not nose candy. Used to lube inside case necks and comes off the brushes you see standing up.

steve boxMica, you dont say. I wonder what would happen if someone were to do a big line of that stuff. If nothing else a finger would fit with less friction.

hunt127588Midway USA doesn't even sell the Frankford press.

tnekkccIn ~ 2000 Midway:
1) Would not give me the V prices even though I spent $2k/ year at Midway.
2) Added shipping charges
3) Added mimimun order
4) Added handling fee
5) Shipped me Addams and Bennet barrels with bushings on the threads. 1/2" out of straight, and bores like an inverted rat tail files.
6) Sent me pictures of Potterfield going to Africa with antique rifles during the change in prices transition.
In ~ 2000 I:
1) Stopped giving Midway anymore of my money
It has been like quiting smoking. I am proud of the self dicipline.
I now buy from
http://www.grafs.com/http://www.lockstock.com/http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/and a dozen others.
But no more Midway for me.
Oh yeah, a laugh, I called Midway once about their .223 reamers. I asked if it was a .223Rem or a 5.56 Nato. They gave me Remington's phone number.

ScudRunnerIt's quite logical, he posed so you can see the digital display.

Heavy Metal 1The second target does have holes in it. Just under the white horizontal bar of the target's center are two holes and one is on top of the verticle bar. I don't see the open fly, but I do have to ask, why the heck are you looking there anyway?

16 February 2007, 22:23
hunt127588I guess I should have been more specific when I made my first post.
http://www.midwayusa.com does not list the Frankford Arsenal press in their reloading section as an item to sell. They have quite a few FA items for sale on Midway's site but not the press. The ad listed above was for midwayusa.com.
