yesNorma*s new powder URP
Hi
does anyone tried this new powder? according norma it will give a 100 fps more in many calibers . they give 2800 fps for 180 gr in 3006!. it is very near those high energy loads from hornady and federal.

M 98thats looks like an intresting powder....gives a higher velocity than MRP but with a lesser powder charge....i just recenrtley pressure tested NORMA MRP 63 GNS gave me a vel of 2870 fps with a 180 gn nosler from a 24 inch pressure barrel
hope they sell it as a component

That's not really noteworthy -- it's not very difficult to get 2800 f.p.s. from 180 gr. bullets in the 30-06 using any of a number of readily-available powders, and you can do it in most modern bolt action rifles with 22 inch barrels. You can do it with IMR or H 4350, with IMR or H 4831, with RL-22, and probably with a number of others.

I don't believe anyone in the U.S. is importing Norma powders right now. This seems to be an off again-on again thing here.
