The only smokelss loads I've seen recommended by a powder company is AA-xmp-5744. They show 37gr w/ a 405gr bullet & 35gr w/a 500gr. Good luck, are you shooting these from a Sharps? Old or new?

No fellas, I am looking for smokeless loads for a NEF which is currently in .45-70, which I plan to rechamber to .45-120, so it will be able to stand a LOT more pressure than ANY Sharps. This is a late production New England Firearms. I am thinking about starting with a 405 cast and about 65-70 grains of Varget, as 60 grains is all that will fit in the .45-70 case, and that is VERY comperssed but still under pressure. Later I plan to work up some heavy loads using 500 grainers and RE-7. I am having trouble finding loads for the 120 other than the old low-pressure Sharps loads.
