My .300 Win petload for my Blaser R93 (25" bbl.)consists of :
165 Sierra GK / N 160 / 73.5 (CCI 250). It's at the high end (3179 ft"), so approach with caution.

I shoot 76.5 grains of RL22 and federal 215 primers in my 300 win mag. And get .5 inch groups at 100. the rifle is a custom single shot remington 700 action, douglas 26" barrel set in a McMillan stock. good luck and good shooting.

Here are a couple of my loads.
These are absolute max loads but show no pressure signs in my rifle.
H-S Precision Pro Hunter 26" barrel.
Definitely start a few grains below this in your rifle.

165gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, 3.45 cartridge OAL
79grains RL 22 powder, federal magnum match primer
average velocity 3405
.75" 3 shot groups

165gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, 3.45 cartridge OAL
80grains H4831sc powder, federal magnum match primer
average velocity 3380
3 shots in 1 hole groups

When I'm shooting for accuracy with 150/165 grain loads in my 300 Win I use H4831 and Imr4831. If I'm loading heavy and fast for elk I go with r22. Holy crap I shot some nice loads with 150 grain partition, H4831, f215 and ww brass. I have very consistantly tight groups with 165 sierra sbt and hpbt gamekings. Ballistic tips always shoot excellent with imr4831, but I like a little more meat to my bullets.

Can't remember the data, and too lazy to go get it right now, but with RL 22, within book specs, and a 165 grain ballistic tip or partition ( either one) I chronographed the loads right at 3300 to 3350 out of my Browning A Bolt 300 Mag, with a 26 inch barrel.

Accuracy is definitely varmint quality, so it will be laser sharp on anything bigger.

I believe the Nosler manuals list RL 22 with a velocity of 3290 with that powder.

Check out the reloader pages that Mr. Riccardelli ( hope I did not massacre his name too bad) refers to in his posts, they are a wealth of information. They just don't mention velocities.

PS, If you are using that load for game, I would highly recommend the partitions or Barnes X over the Ballistic Tips, unless blood shot meat is not a problem or concern. At that velocity the BT will definitely give you a good bit of it.

Seafire.

My friend wants to use that for a deer load. I'll pass that on to him.

I agree with what Seafire said about hunting with the Ballistic Tips. I don't use them to hunt.
Too much bloodshot meat.
For hunting I use the Nosler Partition, I go one grain lower on the powder and lose about 25fps.
I get one hole groups with that bullet and the same loads listed above (-1 grain of powder) also.
