I ran the 223WSSM through Chris Long's barrel harmonics software and quickload, and with 55 grainers and a 22" barrel you have to redline it to hit a node, i.e. 60,000 PSI plus.

If you want, try Ramshot Big Game or I4831 at 3750 fps and 3770, respectively. Quickload projects pressures at 60,000 PSI, so count your fingers, before and after.......

Even though these cartridges are designed to run that high, I don't like operating there. The alternative is to drop down into the low 50,000's, and end up with sooted cases.

The bullet that looks like it should work well is the 69 gr matchking, as you can hit nodes around 58,000 PSI. Try H4831 or RL19 at 3400 and 3425 fps, respectively. HTH, Dutch.

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

I've had good success with IMR4350, Varget and RL19 with 55 and 60gr Vmax. I just tried a LRM primer with Varget, and it shoots even better.

H4895 works well with a 50gr BT, generating over 4,050fps.
