My Featherweight absolutely loves this bullet. I found a couple of boxes at a gunshow for $7/box and was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I have shot with them was an antelope a couple of years ago. First shot was about 320yds and a little far back. Second shot was 360 and exactly where I wanted it. The bullet entered right side low behind the shoulder, clipped a rib on one side or the other (memory fails me), and stopped at the leg bone on the other side. When boning that afternoon, I found the jacket pieces and sand sized lead granules in the leg. The bullet should have been doing only about 2200 at that distance and it really went to hell when it hit. With that kind of result, I would not use it on anything bigger than deer-sized, but it did it's job in this case. Makes me wonder tho, what would have happened if it had hit the bone on the way in. Good bullet, just be careful. Jeff

This is the 140gr BTSP interlock you are talking about right?

I have used them on mule deer extensively. Both in factory {custom/2940fpsMV,lightmag/3110fpsMV}and handloads{2900fpsMV+/-}.I have found the bullet when loaded at 3100fps does fail sometimes at closer ranges but dead is dead. However the bullet really works on big bodied muley bucks, excellent expansion & weight retention.I have shot muleys with them at all angles and out to 275yds,quite a few pass throughs on rib shots under 200 yds.I have had them smash bone on the way in and found the jacket with some lead intact.I have shot a bull elk with them as well but only one so I can't really comment on that.I shoot them in a Rem.Mtn.rifle and have considered them my goto mule deer bullet.I have a few recovered bullets from deer here,I could try to post pics if you are interested?

Pop I used the 140 gr hornady in a 270 on a couple big mule deer bucks in Montana and on 3 or 4 big bodied Manitoba whitails.I found it shot as flat as the 130's but penetrated better. The only shot that didn't exit was a buck standing facing me.the 140 gr slug destroyed the lungs and ended up well back in the guts. This combination would be my choice when hunting deer with a 270.

That bullet is very accurate in my 270. I shot 3 deer with it so far and they all went down very quick. Also,
all three exited.

I've taken several whitetail with this bullet plus antelope & a big bodied muley (all w/ .270 win). I've seen several others use the bullet on whitetail as well. Most were taken with hornady light mags, but some with handloads. Performance has always been excellent. The bullet expanded well on an antelope waaaayyyy out there, yet broke a shoulder on a chunky muley at 175 yards and exited the other side.

I have shot three 6 point bulls, three spikes, and several cows with the 140 gr interlock. My loads are 3000 out of the barrel. I have had pass throughs on all elk over 250 yards. Under 250 the bullets are found under the skin on the off side. I shot one 6 point at 20 yards. The bullet really flew apart. The most important thing was the bullet I felt did the job. At close range they transfered ALL their energy to the animal. At long range (250 to 350) yards the bullets took out both lungs and passed through for a good trail. They shoot good out of my Pre-64. Some might say they are not good for elk. If a guy can't pass up a rump shot then maybe he need a different gun AND bullet. A 270 that sends a 140 through the lungs makes a full freezer. Ron
