A buddy just bought a Cooper in .223AI. I'm trying to locate data. The Nosler #5, Speer #13, and Hornady #4 books don't have the AI.

Suggestions??

Thanks,

You might try the A-Square "Any Load You Want" manual. I do not have it, but they claim to be the most comprehensive. Failing that, try "Wildcat Cartridges" or Ackley's Handbook.

A-Square dosn't have it either.
Rule of thumb for Ackley's is to start at the Max. load for the parent cartridge and work up slowly.

The Sierra #5 does not have it either. Thought it might. I looked at the capacities in an internal program and the 223I is hardly bigger than the .223. Maybe one grain more!

The plan is to just work up loads like it was a .223 and wear safety glasses. Another safety idea is to add 100 fps to whatever velocity you estimate and stick with it no matter what anyone says.
