Ctrl C/Ctrl V from my post in earlier thread:

I spent quite some time on loads for my W70 in 270 WSM.

- HNDY BTSP 140 grains with 57grains IMR4350 produce 1/2" at 100 yards.

I decided to develop 130 HNDY SST and after trying IMR 4350, RL 19 and H4831SC I got decent results with 58grains of H4831SC pushing 130 grains Hornady bullet to 1 1/8" group @ 100 yards

Little bit discouraged I decided to try 150 grains Hornady SST and using 59 grains of RL19 I made those holes kiss at 100 yards grouping under an inch.

Conclusion: I have good hunting ammo for my Winchester 70 - 130, 140 and 150 grains, but each round uses different propellant. It is very likely I am going to stick with just BTSP 140 - the price and availability even in these trying times make it my favorite and the performance on VA whitetails is excellent.

I own a Winchester Model 70 chambered in 270 WSM and have worked up several loads for it that are pretty good. My two favorites are:

Win case
Fed 215M primer
66 grains RL 22
Nosler 140 grain Partition
Velocity 3200 fps
3/4 inch groups
Have shot coyotes, wild hogs, deer, and black bear with this load-great performance.

Living in California I had to find a no-lead alternative. I just could not get the 130 grain Barnes TSX to shoot well in my gun. I tried the 110 grain Tipped TSX and am pleased.

Win case
Fed215M primer
67 grains IMR 4350
Barnes 110 grain TTSX
velocity 3600 fps
3/4 inch groups
Have only shot coyotes and antelope so far with these, also great performance.

Work up to these loads from a couple grains lower, these are to be considered maximum loads.

My most accurate load to date is:

Remington Case
Fed 215 primer
64 Grains of R-19
3150 fps
.37" inch group
140 Sierra GK bullet

My most common deer load:

Rem Case
Fed 215 primer
65 grains R-19
3250 FPS
130 Swift Scirrocco
.62" group

My Elk load:

Rem Case
Fed 215
64 grains R-22
3050 fps
150 Nosler Part
.48 group

My Varmit load:

Rem Case
Fed 215 primer
XX grains of R-19 (I cannot find my notes currently on the powder charge)
Sierra 90 grain HP
.69 groups
Creates massive damage on Coyotes

Varmit load is not fun with praries dogs. I cannot find anything after a hit and recoil is to much to watch the explosion.

Accubonds have worked well also in the 140 grain.

My .270 WSM loads get Fed 210M primers and Winchester or Remington brass, other details are as follows. 130 grain Nosler Solidbase-NorthFork-Barnes TSX get 68 grains of RL-22 or 73.5 grains of Magpro, speeds from 3420 up to 3462 fps. 140 grain Barnes TSX get 68 grains of RL-25 and gives speeds of 3250 up to 3300 fps. 150 grain Nosler Partition or NorthFork get 66 grains of RL-25 giving speeds of 3145 up to 3210 fps. All loads are very accurate and have been used extensively on Mule and Whitetail Deer. This round is amazing and in my opinion the ideal Deer sized game chambering produced today. Good shooting.
