Which bullet? Do you have a specific bullet or wgt in mind? Do you have a preferance in powder?
Most of the powder companies have some data on their web sites.
http://stevespages.com/page8.htm is a good place to look also.

Any good 140-145gr bullet and 39-41grs of H4895.
I've read of some guys having good success with varget but haven't tried any. Don't want to fix what ain't broke. [Big Grin]

My Vote definitely goes to using RL 15 in any 308 sized case. Jay G's loads above should do the trick on anything you can legally hunt in Britain.

Good luck!

Jeff, Have you found that the magnum primers are that much more accurate than with a standard Rem. or CCI LR primer? There's no way my loads are going to be more accurate using a mag primer, I'll get 3 in small ragged hole and 2 just a bit outside of the other 3. What are you getting for accuracy with your load? Jay

Jay,
I rarely use non mag primers.... this load is my go-to load for an unknown gun... just set bullets to cannalure and see how it shoots... if not tuned, i get, in 4 different guns, usually right at or under moa... works pretty well,,,,

ever poped primers in an empty case? mags make fire shoot out the end, so i believe that they are still burning when the bullet is out of the barrel.

My favorite 7mm-08 load for deer sized game is the 145gr Speer SBT--49grs of WW760--CCI-250..R.P.case. Vel for this load in my 24" barreled BBR clockes 2898ft/sec, and in my rifle groupes 3/4 moa.Good load

My Browning A-Bolt loves - 139g Hornady BTSPI, 40.0g of IMR 3031 and CCI BR-2 Primers in R-P Brass. I took several nice Texas Whitetails and a Big Sow Hog with this load, all perfect 1 shot kills. Accuracy is right on 1". IMR-3031 isn't the normal powder one would think of when loading for a 7-08 but the usual wasn't working for me with the A-Bolt till I hit this combo.
