Has anyone had any experience with the light-for-caliber bullets for the .338 Win. Mag.? Loads / performance, etc? I'm looking at the 185 gr. Barnes Triple Shock and the 210gr. Nosler Partition. Thanks, Sam eclemmons@hotmail.com

Sam, Ray got me to try the 210s and they do an outstanding job on elk. My rebarreled CZ liked H4831. My current favorite is a box stock Win 70 that likes what I thought should be too slow, Reloader 22, 3000 fps and consistent sub MOA.

I use the 210 Partition exclusively in my A-Bolt Composite Stalker. This was the first load I ever tried and is the only load I will ever use!! I use IMR 4350 with the 210 Partition and a Federal 215 primer. Consistant .75 MOA and 3050 fps at the muzzle. It is absolutely devastating to large bull elk. There's something like 4300 ft/lbs of energy with this load if I remember correctly. I see no need to use anything heavier.

This works pretty good for me, but with Winchester cases you would probably have to increase the powder a little to get the same velocity. Federal cases seem to have less capacity. 210 Nosler Federal Cases CCI 250 Primer 70.5 gr. IMR 4350 COL 3.31 Fps Average 2916 I've killed deer and elk with that load, one shot kills. Accurate from my Winchester Model 70, barrel is 26". I don't know what you have in mind to hunt, but I've gotten incredible groups with the Nosler AccuBond bullet. Haven't killed anything with them yet, but will use them exclusively next year. My best load so far: 225 Nosler AccuBond Rem. Cases CCI 250 Primer 70.5 gr. IMR 4350 COL 3.35 Velocity- 2827fps 3/4 inch groups for 4 shots
