I store my rifle /shotgun ammo, powder etc. in my garage which is not heated, so it gets fairly cold during the winter, probably down to 35deg or thereabouts! In the summer it remains fairly cool.

Is that a good place to store ammo or should they be ideally stored at room temp?

Thanks,

I have some that have survived much worse and survived well.....Ideally it should be stored inside but 35 deg won't hurt it at all.

I think if it's in sealed milsurp cans it's best...
but boxed and sealed with just tape is ok too.

Just don't throw the ammo in a cardboard container that can hold moisture....put it in plastic boxes or in zip locks!....then box and seal them.

The last few winters I have been going to Fla. and leaving my stuff, that I didn't take, in an unheated house in Maine with absolutly no ill effects.
