.25-06 Brass?

I've been reloading once fired brass from cheap boxes of Rem Cor-Lokts. This winter I loaded up a couple hundred rounds with 100 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips and now I don't have any brass to load my GS Custom HVs in.

I need to order a couple hundred new brass.

I think I recall I read here or somewhere I'd be better off using .270 brass from a different manufacturer.

Any recommendations?

Hi O'l Sarge
I use RWS 270 and neck them down using a full length die and trim to length. great quality brass. I believe that norma also do 270 brass that is of equal quality.

Hope this helps

My first choice is 280 Rem cases. The shoulder is 0.051" farther forward and 0.051" longer. I can size the case to fit the chamber and set the sizing die at the same time for minimum headspace. I can also trim to fit the chamber neck length.

Neck turning the cases and polishing the exander ball until I get a minimum of expanding and fitting the case to the chamber keeps the cases from stretching much.

Even though I run the cases through a trimming process every time I usually only have a thou or so come off.

I used 270 cases before the advent of 280 Rem. I also use Federal Gold Metal Match 30-06, Federal Nickle 270 and 25-06 brass and Lapua 30-06 brass.
