Just think how much better it would be if you lernt how to shoot properly (right handed). Kidding of course, sounds great.

BigBore, I guess we can't all be "right minded". Unfortunately my wife (the wrong handed Minister of Finance) passed her inferior right handed genes to both of our children. She is really going to be upset if she ever finds out that you can buy a production left handed rifle!!! Now I'm waiting for my 375 H&H to get back from Kelly McMillan with a brand new stock. Can't wait to work on load development for it.

Oops. I meant BigBores...no offense intended.

Good to see there is another correct handed shooter out there from the windy city!!!! I have the same "problem" with my wife. Good luck!

Lefty hunter, Just goes to show what a decently built rifle with a Hart barrel will do! Hicks, My understanding of evolution was that the lefties were the rejects . But due to Political Correctness, their "rights" were re-instated. Our own Walter here is a lefty, and if any of you guys are half as hamfested as he is, God only helps who work with you! ------------------ www.accuratereloading.com

Congratulations on the success of your Benchrest, eeerrrrr, hunting rifle. You should be able to split a toothpick with groups like that. Way to go and good shootin'

3 south-paws near Chicago??? Most excellent! Hey Lefty, what range do you use? I an looking for something closer than Starve Rock.

All these left handed shooters from the Chicago area. I to am left handed and live in the western burbs of Chicago, but I suffer the curse of being infatuated with single shot rifles. Try the range up on the IL WI border In Bristol WI.

I was thinkin about this post today and this thought kept crossing my mind. Get a "new" rifle and are thinking of all day/week long about the possibilities of working up a load for it. You buy 5 kinds of bullets, 3 kinds of powder, count how many primers you have left over from other calibers to make sure you have enough. You check all your manuals for a promising load and contemplate the starting charge, primer, and ogive/lands distance. And then, after all that thinking and planning you get to excited. All proven procedures and steps go down thew toilet because you just want to shoot that gun N O W! You take off early from work and hodge - podge a load together to shoot before it gets dark. BINGO!!! First session you hit the mother of all loads for your new baby and get cheated out of all the frustration, heartache, unwanted advice from others, sleepless nights and promise that this next load will be the ONE! Welcome Lefty

I shoot at the Aurora Sportsmans club in Sugar Grove. 100 yd rifle, pistol range, archery, 3D elevated stand and woods course, skeet range and 2 trap ranges. Nice place. There will be one less lefty in the Western'Burbs come August 7th as I am checking out of the rat race and moving to Northern Idaho for some well deserved focus on hunting, horses, my wife, and kids. It can't come too soon.

Lefty hunter, What was done to your rifle by Hart? Did they perform other work such as action work or blueprinting besides rebarreling? How long did you have to wait? What barrel contour/length did you choose? Fluted? ------------------

Lefty Hunter, What barrel length, contour, and crown did you specify? RCBS or Ackley version? Regards, Matt. [This message has been edited by Matt in Virginia (edited 07-26-2001).]

The rifle started out as a LH Remington 700 KS Mountain rifle in 30.06. Because of the thin forend of the McMillan stock, I had it rebarreled with a #2 contour 24" stainless barrel. Their price for rebarreling is $520. The include lapping the lugs, squaring the receiver and bolt face. I did not specify a RCBS or Ackley crown. I just said make me a .280 AI with a non fluted 24" barrel. Turn around time was approx. 4 months. I did have them teflon the action and leave the barrel a bead blasted stainless. I love this rifle and can recommend them without hesitation. Good luck. [This message has been edited by lefty hunter (edited 07-28-2001).]

I too was endowed by my creator with being left hand dominant. I use only single shots for hunting thus far. I do have some semi autos in hand and long gun, and the garand style safety is a blessing for the left handed. I would like someday to get a short rifle like the Model Seven to use, but so far I have been able to meet my hunting/bench needs with the single shot.-----------Chainsaw [This message has been edited by Chainsaw (edited 07-29-2001).]
