Leo M30-06 Powder Question
I have been searching and reading. I want to shoot 180 grain Accubonds in a 30-06 and thinking of trying H4350, which I have. Looking for velocity, so my question is; is there anything to be gained with trying RL 22, H or IMR 4831, and IMR 4350? Thanks for any help.

nedI have done well with R22 behind 180 Accubonds and other 180s in the 06. Try it.

vapodogall of these work well but RL-22seems to have a slight edge. Also H-414 works well too.
Frankly.....the difference is so little that you might want to try several powders for yourself.....but either of the 4350 powders are excellent in the old '06

ramrod340I bet you are talking less than 100fps spread top to the bottom. If you have the one powder try it. If you get an accurate load close to max I wouldn't spend much money looking at others.
As usual just my $.02

+1 to that. Rifles are very individual. What works in mine may or may not work as well in yours. So if you have one of these, try it before buying a can of something you don't have. If it works, great and you've avoided buying unnecessary powder. If it doesn't, then get another.

Jay GorskiIf youre looking for velocity over accuracy, RE19 should give you that, try RE15 for the most accuracy, 47.5-48.5grs.

South4060.0 gr of H4831SC and 180 gr Rem PSP's is extremely accurate in my '06. S40

M70classicI have found that IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 both work extremely well in my 30-06 with different bullets. I have shot mostly Rem 180 pspcl s, 180 Hornady sp, and Nosler 180 Partitions. If I do things right, I can group under .75 at 100 with most loads, under .5 with some.

Bill Leeper4350 and 180 grain bullets is a classic combination for the 30/06. Most will achieve in the neighborhood of 2800fps at max levels.
This is one of those combos that works so well, I reach for 4350 ahead of anything else for the '06. If it doesn't work, I figure there's something wrong with the rifle. By the way, I have used IMR, XMR, and H4350 and all have worked equally well. Regards, Bill.

D HunterI expect your gun will shoot the H-4350 just fine. If so use it and don't look back. It is as good as there is and has a quality that no other powder on the shelf has. It is PP
