Has anyone compared the size of Ruger bolt action, barrel chambers to other bolt action rifles? I think my Ruger chamber is larger than that of my CZ.When I reload my cases for these rifle,I get the snake and egg effect, when expanding cases, with cartridges that were fired from the Ruger chamber and not from my CZ.I think the brass fired in the Ruger chamber,is being worked more and weakend and this shows up in the expanding process.

It would be ODD if the two chambers had no differences in dimensions. It is possible that the Ruger is indeed bigger - nay, LIKELY, even! I would just keep the brass separate for each rifle......

Ruger doesn't tell me how they chamber but I doubt you will find much difference in the average chamber sizes of any factory rifles.

I'm comfident they all use reamers ground to max SAMMI dimensions. New reamers will cut chambers on the larger size but, as they wear and get resharpened, the chambers they cut will get smaller. The reamer gets tossed when it gets to the minimum SAMMI range.

The chamber any of us gets depends on how old the reamer was, not who used it.

I don't know if there is a size difference in both chambers. When I expand resized cases for my CZ 458WM and Lott, the cases do not bulge at their necks,as if they swallowed an egg. They do so only when I expand the cases fired from my Ruger Lott.I use the same load,dies,etc..

I have a Ruger M77 varmit rifle in 308. The case mouths are expanded wider than any other 308 rifle I own.

I have many 308 rifles. I have quite a few 308 target rifles. I have FAL's and a PTR 91. There is a difference in the reamer Ruger used.

Still, the Ruger shoots just great, after I bedded the action.

That's how I see it.I get a similar effect when case mouths over expand in chambers with severe throat erosion, once they are sized by a bushing die.
