Have problem of not extracting,in my 700 classic doesn't matter if fired or unfired, but I have reloaded it once. no problem with new brass that hasn't been fired or resized. Have put in new extractor, no difference. and the loaded brass functions fine in my tikka and custom mauser.Do you think I've oversized and pushed the shoulder back.I have also tried some loaded in norma brass no problem in extracting , but again they haven't been resized. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Only if you're pushing the shoulder so far back that the case isn't long enough to snap over that little spring loaded extractor of the Remington.

The Mauser has the CRF bolt so it doesn't care where the shoulder is. I'm not sure about the Tikka extractor.

My guess would be that you are using American manufactured brass with the smaller(wrong) 30-06 rim diameter. Get some real 6.5 brass with the proper Rim diameter and see it that takes care of the problem.

Ditto, Norma brass and ammo always works.
You might try neck sizing 7/8th of the neck and see what happens.

Since it's an American made rifle I'd try some American made brass. Remington in a Remington.

Make up a dummy round. TRY seating a bullet super long so that it touches the rifling. See if this will push the case back enough to engage the extractor.
You could also put an empty case in the chamber and run a cleaning rod down the bore and tap it back into the extractor.

I'll try some neck sizing, but one thing is confusing is that won't extract the case before its fired and after firing still won't extract, weight of cleaning rod will push case out. would think on firing case would expand enough to extract.Have also heard remington chamber is larger than european swede chamber.

Remove the bolt, take an empty case and press it into the bolt face. See how it interacts with the extractor, and see it if catches or not.

Thanks for all the replies bought some winchester brass loaded and fired it twice extracts fine, but the rim diameter is .005 less than the lapua. so extraction problem seems solved but accuracy is not as good and of course case capacity is less. may have a sako extractor instaled and go back with lapua brass.

Mike, the Sako type extractor might or might not work with the Lapua or Norma brass unless you also have the bolt face opened up to the Eurpoean diameter as well. The American rifles, at least Rem and Win, have the American standard bolt face as well, instead of the Eurpoean. Just do both at the same time.
