Just wanted to TRY posting a picture. I thought this forum was complicated before; now with the new format it's impossible!!!

NOW there's something about "permissions"?

It's hard enough to understand about URLs, uploads, downloads, hosting, etc. ad nauseum!

Now there's "permissions"? And how do you control these? ARGHHHH!!!!

Can anybody here just step back and take a look at JUST HOW COMPLICATED using this forum is becoming???

I really HATE IT, just when you're beginning (and sometimes barely!) to get comfortable on a site or forum, they change EVERYTHING around and you go nut!

Sorry, not sure what you're saying, Steve.

See my further frustrations under "Suggestions and help requests".

I tell you, if I was a rich man, I would just hire people to do all my computer work...that's for d__n sure!

SonofThreeGuns,

Are you trying to post a pic directly? Do you understand that you have to have the pic hosted elsewhere, and just put a link to it here?

Don't know whether this will help or not, but go to www.photobucket.com and join for free. Load your pictures. Click the box for the picture you want to post, lower down there will be a box for "generate HTML or MSG code", use the code from "IMG code for message boards", Edit/copy code and go back to post, click the 2nd from right box at top (little green envelope), right click to paste or type in code without the parenthetical (IMG)'s, there you didi it!! Without permission. Bad boy. shame

OK, thanks for the help/advice on posting pics, but posting pics isn't my only gripe.

Overall, I'm not real happy with this new "format" (is that the right term - crap, you can't keep up with all this "lingo"/terms - whatever!).

Seems like sites are ALWAYS changing things around (man, I DON't like this new way of making replys - such a tiny box and WAHT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE PREVIEW FUNCTION????????????????????????????? - DAMMIT! - YOU CAN ONLY CLICK "POST NOW"!!!!

Guess you just have to post message and if you don't like edit it.

Another gripe - tried sending a private message, but that's hard (for me) to do now.

I have been trying for sometime to hire some kind of "computer guru/whiz/geek/whatever to do all my computer work for me.

These things are about as "user friendly" as cosmoline in your gas tank!!

If one of yous wuz here standing by me, I cood 'splain my frustarations...

just noticed at the top of the "post a reply" box I is typing this in there are THREE (count 'em, 1...,2...,3) separate boxes that say something about UBB codes

wait they ALL have this mysterious term "UBB" in it

It's frustarting that every site uses differnt systems - I don't like this new one here.

I'll try posting a pic.

Of course I could tell you about all the problems I've had putting pictures on that hosting sites -

things like no compression or too much or wrong size, portion of picture doesn't show, and other headaches impossible for me to comprehend,

What really is a laugh are these "help" sections you go to which are written in language you can't understand.

You know, I had the tech whiz at our ISP (and believe me this guy has forgotten more about comuters then anybody) tell me he has gotten so frustrated he has shot computers with an arrow!
So I'm not the only one.

Peace

You have to make sure that there's only one (IMG) before and after your pasted picture in your post. If there are 2, go in and erase the extras.

See! beer

I agree with not liking the new format. The problem is, AR became so popular that the old software couldn't handle the traffic, and kept crashing. That is why the format changed.

You'll get used to the new format in time, probably right about when it get's upgraded Wink
