Finally got around to it.....

Rifle – 6.5 X 55 Swedish, Rem 700 Action, PacNor #2 @22”, 1:9 twist

Powder – Reloader 17 48-49.5 grains

Alliant Data – Speer 90 grn hollow point, 48.5 grains, 3223 fps

Bullet – Sierra 100 grain hollow point

Cases – Winchester

Primer Fed 210M

Chronograph - Oehler 35P @15 feet from muzzle

All groups five shots

Legend - + highest velocity
- lowest velocity
E diff between high and low
M Mean
S Standard Deviation

Weather – 75 warming to 85, wind increasing to 12mph, shooting directly into the wind

Results – overall decent, rifle groups better with IMR 4064 or Varget shooting between 3100 and 3200 fps and the same bullet. Smallest group was .762 outside to outside @ 49 grains. For reference the black box is .966 outside to outside. At 49.5 grains I could just start to feel a little tightness in the bolt lift. I’ll shoot 49.5 again as the numbers look promising but the wind had kicked up. First shot of the day was the low one @48 grains.

Before someone points it out, I know I missed consistently to the left … lol Smiler

ned ----- I got a real neat one hole group with my .243 WSSM using RL-17 powder sunday. I have used it in my .25 WSSM and .270 WSM also, with good results, while not the one holer, close. Good shooting.
