Can anyone give me a hand with a varmint load for the 25-06? I am looking for a high velocity, light bullet load. Bullet about 75 grains maximum, and highly frangible. Massive tissue destruction is not a problem. To be used for 'chucks & 'yotes.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

75 Sierra or V-Max with IMR-4064 or A-2700.

75 gr V-max over 50.1 grs of Varget. Work up to this load carefully - near max.

Jay, I recently tried the 75 grain V-Max in my 25-06. It shot pretty good, I am anxious to try it out on a coyote or something or other. My dad shoots that bullet quite a bit and it works well for him. I tried H 4350 and IMR 4831 powders in my rifle.

The most accurate load in my gun at least was:

Remington case
Federal 210 primer
57 grains IMR 4831
Hornady 75 V-Max

velocity 3570 fps
group = 0.53 inches

Good Luck, R F

I like 59.o gr H-4831 SC pushing a 75 V-max. I'm using CCI 200 primers so far. Std manual seating depth is all I've tried yet. 5-shots in under an inch consistently at 200yds. Don't have any chrono data yet but it rains prairie dog parts every time.
