I have finished barrel break-in on my new 308 Panther and groups w/factory ammo are looking good (1moa, sometimes less). I have some IMR 4895 and Sierra 155gr HPBT Palma bullets, new brass and Fed GM primers. Any pet loads would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you gentlemen | ||

I'm guessing your 308 Panther is chambered for 308 Win. If it is, your components listed should have you set up pretty well. If using Lake City Match or Federal Gold Medal Match, which is generally a good bit heavier than regular R-P/W-W, Fed. Premium, etc.. brass, max loads will usually be a grain or so less. In my 308 M700 VSSF (26" barrel), using either LC or Fed GMM brass, F210M or CCI BR2 primers, and 155 Palmas at 2.825" O'AL, I've done 45 (edit)of either IMR or(end edit) H4895, which generates nearly 3,100 FPS (!!!) and numerous sub 1/2" groups. In R-P or W-W brass, another grain produces similar velocity, BUT, there is a definite accuracy difference between the LC81/FGMM brass and anything else. Lapua is supposed to be even better, according to the BR guys, but, every time I try to order some, MidSouth is out of it. Get this - in that particular rifle, the most consistently accurate bullet under 168 grains has been a plain-Jane old 150 Speer spitzer It's done numerous 0.22's and 0.23's with that bullet.
