I assume its for Shotgun. Lee's slug (cast)can be loaded with an AA wad for rifled bbl's but I've never tried it. The data is available from Lee. I have seen some company in the back of the gun magazines that is selling a package to make them but I don't recall who it was. I'll look and post if I find it. As for the majors I have not seen them list their components for sale. At +$10 / 5 shots for the premium slugs, I know what you mean.

Might be talking about the sabots for loading .22 bullets in .30 cal rifle rounds. There's a place with a name like Alabama Shooting Supply that has them, but I've misplaced the URL. Wouldn't be hard to Google it up.
