Hi, Just wondering if anybody has used the Barnes TSX in 7mm Rem Mag. I was going to do some load development for a 1960s Browning Safari bolt action and found some for half price and thought they might be worth a try. There's an assortment from 140-160 grain, so if anybody has any experience with these please chime in. I've never used Barnes bullets except the old Barnes "originals" for a 416 Rigby... Thanks

I have used the Barnes TSX and the TTSX in a couple 7mm mags. I prefer the TTSX. I have taken numerous deer and elk with that bullet. I believe the TTSX opens a little quicker than the TSX and it has worked well on deer. I have also taken a couple elk with the 140 gr TTSX and they fully penetrated on a couple elk, one being a broadside shot on a 5x5 Bull.Everthing I could ask for.

Thanks, Snowman. Looks like the TTSX has a wider "hollowpoint" covered by the plastic tip which could explain the better expansion I guess. I have quite a few Partitions for 7mm I think I'd try for an elk load and also throw in the 140 TTSX in the future. Maybe the TSX would be fine for whitetail and antelope. I've had good luck with Nosler ballistic tips in the past for other calibers as well as accuracy so not sure the TSX has much of an edge. The TTSX sounds like a good flat-shooting, tough Elk load, though...

My wife and I have used the 160 TSX for many years. I works like a charm and seldom does not exit the animal. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.
